PRESS RELEASE: Teledyne DALSA Falcon2 Cameras now available in Color

Teledyne DALSA, a Teledyne Technologies company and a global leader in machine vision technology, today announced that its Falcon2 high performance area scan camera series is now available in color. The Color Falcon2 incorporates the company's CMOS imaging technology making these cameras ideal for: more detailed electronic component and food inspection, street mapping, medical applications, 3D color imaging in industrial applications (PCB inspection) and digital cinema.

Falcon2 Color cameras enable color inspection along with fast frame rates, excellent image quality, and true global shutter operation. Unique to the machine vision market, Teledyne DALSA’s 4M and 8M Falcon2 cameras come with selectable aspect ratios. All three models are mechanically rugged and are thermally stable and thus do not require external heat sinks. The Falcon2 Color cameras come with embedded image processing, including FFC correction and pixel responsivity adjustment. The Falcon2 Color series includes:

  • Falcon2 4M Color, delivering 4 Megapixels at 168 frames per second,
  • Falcon2 8M Color, delivering 8 Megapixels at 90 frames per second, and the
  • Falcon2 12M Color, delivering 12 Megapixels at 58 frames per second.

“The Falcon2 Color series delivers high resolution, color accuracy, and speed for an overall excellent image quality," said Behnam Rashidian, Senior Product Manager at Teledyne DALSA. “The addition of the Falcon2 Color series enables applications such as food, pharmaceutical, and industrial inspection where accurate color information is essential.”
