Teledyne DALSA’s Line Scan Polarization Camera Achieves Platinum at Vision Systems Design’s Innovators Awards program

WATERLOO, Canada – April 3, 2017 - Teledyne DALSA announced today that its Piranha4 Polarization camera was recognized by the judges of the annual Vision Systems Design Innovators Awards program. The judging panel consisted of esteemed experts from system integrator and end-user companies. Teledyne DALSA was honored with a Platinum-level award. The live presentation will take place today at 3:30 pm at The Automate Show, Hynes Convention Centre in Chicago, Illinois.

The Piranha4 polarization line scan camera provides multiple native polarization state data without any interpolation. The camera enables high-speed, real-time detection of birefringence, stress, surface roughness, film thickness, and other physical properties that cannot be detected with conventional imaging in industrial environments.

“An industry first, our line scan polarization technology is a breakthrough for machine vision,” commented Dr. Xing-Fei He, Senior Product Manager for line scan at Teledyne DALSA, “We’re grateful for this Platinum award from Vision Systems Design. We’re seeing terrific uptake from our customers who have designed our new camera into their systems, and we’re excited to see them succeed in taking their applications to this next level of imaging.”

Alan Bergstein, publisher of Vision Systems Design (http://www.vision-systems.com) said "This prestigious program allows Vision Systems Design to celebrate and recognize the most innovative products and services in the vision and image processing industry. Our 2017 Honorees are an outstanding example of companies who are making an impact in the industry."

The Innovators Awards are judged based on the following criteria:
