PRESS RELEASE: Test & Measurement World Chooses Teledyne DALSA’s Piranha HS 12k Camera as Best in Test Award Finalist

Camera’s Breakthrough Speeds, Resolution and Sensitivity Highlighted

WATERLOO, Ontario – April 19, 2011 – Teledyne DALSA, a Teledyne Technologies company and a global leader in machine vision technology, has been named as a finalist for the 2011 “Best in Test” awards presented by Test & Measurement World for the company’s Piranha HS 12k camera. The awards ceremony will be held on Wednesday, May 4th, 2011 at the Fairmont Hotel in San Jose, California, where the winners will be announced.

The Test & Measurement World awards program honors excellence and innovation in test, measurement, and inspection products. Teledyne DALSA cameras and image acquisition products have won the Best in Test award in the machine vision and inspection category three times in the past five years. The Best in Test Product Awards have been presented annually since 1991 and highlight innovative new products and services in the electronics test and measurement industry. This year's award finalists introduced a new product between November 1, 2009 and October 31, 2010 that represents a significant advancement in the test, measurement and inspection field.

Teledyne DALSA’s Piranha HS 12k 90-kHz camera is the world's first 12k TDI (time delay and integration) camera using the HSLink interface. The camera delivers breakthrough speeds of over 1 gigapixel per second with the new machine vision connectivity interface pioneered by Teledyne DALSA which is being adopted by the AIA as the new Camera Link HS™ standard. Camera Link HS takes the key strengths of Camera Link and adds new features and functions to meet customer's demands today and tomorrow.

The Piranha HS cameras provide an alternative to other line scan imaging by meeting the line rates and responsivity necessary for high-performance applications. Its 12k pixel resolution allows users to reduce the number of cameras in a system.
