GigE Vision Improves Alignment and Identification in Electronics Manufacturing

An application brief in the March issue of NASA Tech Briefs looks at how California-based Nordson Asymtek's fluid dispensing manufacturing processes depend on vision systems for component identification, alignment, and orientation.

The brief highlights the advantages of GigE-based digital vision over traditional analog systems, resulting in significantly decreased processing times and improved accuracy on the production line. Paired with powerful digital processing software like the Sapera Vision Software suite, these vision systems can also be used to perform additional functions such as 1D/2D barcode reading, enabling manufacturing traceability.
