Teledyne to showcase its VIS-LWIR fusion capability at SPIE’s Defense and Commercial Sensing Exhibition

Waterloo, Ontario – April 16, 2019 – Teledyne DALSA, a Teledyne Technologies company and global leader in image sensing technology, will highlight its highly versatile and configurable LWIR camera platform at the SPIE Defense and Commercial Sensing exhibition, taking place April 16-18 at the Baltimore Convention Center in Baltimore, Maryland. Teledyne DALSA will be exhibiting with its colleagues from Teledyne Judson Technologies, Teledyne Imaging Sensors, and Teledyne Optech, all part of the Teledyne Imaging Group, in booth #313.

Teledyne DALSA will showcase it VIS-LWIR fusion capability, featuring real time image fusion. The fusion camera concept is based on the Calibir camera paired with a low light visible camera that feeds into an image-processing platform (GPU). The application area for this technology ranges from defense applications like 360° vehicle situational awareness and Tactical UAS’ to commercial applications like solar panel inspections and autonomous driving.

The Calibir series supports a variety of interfaces, lenses, image processing features, and hardware options that serve a wide range of uncooled LWIR imaging applications, including defense and security, UAV, surveillance, thermography and industrial vision. The series architecture lends itself easily to customization of cameras and cores, with options including Wafer Level Packaged devices, smart embedded algorithms, and real-time fusion imaging.
