DALSA Welcomes New Board Member

Waterloo, Ontario - DALSA Corporation (TSX:DSA) today announced that Dr. Adel Sedra has joined its Board of Directors effective immediately.

Dr. Sedra is the Dean of Engineering at the University of Waterloo and is world-renowned for his work in microelectronics. He is the co-author of three textbooks, the most popular of which, “Microelectronic Circuits”, is currently in its fifth edition and has been translated into eight languages and is in use at hundreds of universities around the world. In addition to his academic work, Dr. Sedra has extensive administration experience, both at the University of Waterloo and at the University of Toronto where he served for nine years as Vice President, Provost and Chief Academic Officer. He has a B.Sc. degree from Cairo University and M.A.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Toronto, all in electrical engineering.

The Company also announced today that Dr. Doug Barber has retired from the Board of Directors. Dr. Barber will continue to focus on his active involvement in microelectronics initiatives in Canada. Dr. Chamberlain said, “Over the past three years Doug contributed significantly to the board and to DALSA. I would like to acknowledge his excellent contributions to the growth and prosperity of our company and to wish him all the best in the future.”
