DALSA founder and chairman Dr. Savvas Chamberlain accepted the Premier's Catalyst Award For Lifetime Achievement in Innovation from Ontario Premier and Minister of Research and Innovation Dalton McGuinty at the inaugural Premier's Innovation Awards ceremony held April 24 at the MaRS Discovery District.

The ceremony honoured Ontario's top research and innovation talents; winners in the Catalyst, Discovery and Summit awards programs were recognized for their achievements in everything from life-saving medical research to innovations that are revolutionizing business and industry.

Dr. Chamberlain, who founded DALSA in 1980, was commended for embodying "every aspect of the successful innovator combining his pioneering technologies in digital imaging with persistence in securing start-up funding and a commitment to investing in research and development."
