This image comparison was created with a dental phantom (a human mandible) and a linepair phantom with actual installed systems at dental offices. We used and measured the actual doses that dentists were using in their daily practices. The result is a real world comparison of the results that a dental professional can expect from these technologies. Teledyne DALSA CMOS technology is able to match and exceed the exposure levels of the other sensors due to the very wide exposure latitude. Teledyne DALSA's image quality is limited by the x-ray beam itself, not by electronic noise, resolution or saturation at higher doses. This means higher quality images with more diagnostic information and fewer re-takes. Our superior pixel design simultaneously delivers better resolution and contrast. See for yourself.

Note the clearer, more detailed images from the Teledyne DALSA CMOS intra-oral detectors. Note also the detail in this impacted molar, highlighted in the Teledyne DALSA 64 mR image. Only two other detectors caught it, and both used far higher x-ray dose.
Note the detail in this impacted molar (highlighted by the red circle). Many imagers failed to detect it, but Teledyne DALSA's CMOS image sensor detected it even at 17.5 mR.
