The Remote RadEye detachable x-ray sensor is designed to fit into tight spaces that are too small to fit a complete imaging camera. The Remote RadEye2 sensor module sits at the end of a pair of detachable cable that can reach into tiny corners. The camera electronics are mounted in a separate enclosure which can be placed up to one meter away. While designed for portable NDT applications, the Remote RadEye can also be used in fixed installations.

The Remote Sensor head consists of a rugged, light-tight enclosure that is only slightly larger than the sensor itself. All standard versions of the RadEye2 sensors are available, covering both the 10-50 kV and 10-160 kV energy ranges (RadEye2 EV model). A standard DVI cable connects the sensor head to the camera module, which contains either a high-speed digital frame grabber interface (Shad-o-Box module), a microprocessor-controlled USB interface (Shad-o-Snap module), or a Gigabit Ethernet interface.
